Friends of St Cuthbert’s

St Cuthbert’s has been at the centre of Clungunford village life for more than seven centuries. The Friends scheme aims to help it to continue to to be useful as well as beautiful, still a place of Christian worship and able to host secular events which welcome people of all faiths and none - to continue a tradition of lay events and festivities, which has endured for hundreds of years. The church, which is open to all every day, has a light-filled, beautiful interior, where lay events for all ages, such as the ones in the slide show above, happen. The exceptionally fine organ is frequently played. Read more...

The Future

The Friends aim is to expand the use of the church as a cultural centre, especially for music and to develop a youth forum. But before this money must be raised to build toilets and better kitchen at the back of the church. Read more...
